L is for Luck

Are you a lucky person? I am not, I might have the worst luck ever. I do know someone who is very lucky he of course as fate would have it is my brother. So first I will tell you a storey about my brothers amazing luck.

So we are playing a game that is totally luck. So it is war right and you have to be extremely lucky to win. So we are playing with jokers and aces are high and so on. So some how after the deal he manages to get both jokers, 3 aces and 2 kings. He had seven of the 10 higest cards. So there was pretty much no way I was going to win. So he managed to beat me in like 7 turns wich was crazy.

So now a storey about my own misfortune. So I am at a race a couple of weeks ago and in the first practice I am the fastest kid. I go out for the second practice and the chain comes off and then for the rest of the day I can't get up to speed. It was very unlucky. I am pretty sure that that wouldn't happen to my brother.

I think luck is totally fake and it is just a frame of mind. What do you think of luck? Do you think it is real?

Life Lesson: Luck is a frame of mind.

K is for kijiji

Everybody knows what e bay is right? The real question though, being Canadian, is do you know what kijiji is? For those of you who don't know it is the Canadian equivalent of e bay. So now is the time I would do re tell so here we go.

I have only personally used kijiji once and that was pretty much a disaster. So here is how it went. I was trying to sell some old movies that my mom wanted to get rid of. So I put the add on kijiji and I waited for someone to reply. After three weeks I was really wondering why nobody replied. Later I found out that I hadn't included any contact info so none could contact me. So there is me on one end of the kijiji smartness scale. Someone that I know is on the total other side of the spectrum. He is an absolute genius with kijiji. He makes will buy something cheap at a garage sale and sell it on kijiji and make money he can upload pictures and everything it is pretty cool.

So what do I think of kijiji? Well I think it is slightly hard to use and that it is confusing. It is also pretty much a copy from ebay.

Life Lesson: Don't make stuff complicated and don't copy other country's ideas.

J is for Jimmie Johnson

For this blog I am going to talk about one of my favourite race car drivers. His name is Jimmie Johnson. He drives the #48 Lowes Chevrolet for Rick Hendrick Racing. He also happens to be the best driver in NASCAR. So here is some background information about him.

He has won the last 4 championships which is a record he now has 50 wins in 297 races. That equals out to about 1 win in every 6 races. He is currently the NASCAR points leader. Jimmie has been rated driver of the year 3 years by by various magazines. He won his first race in just his 13TH attempt. His first full season was 2002 where he finished 5th, the next year he finished 2nd in points. In 2004 he finished 2nd again, in 2005 he finished 5th and finally in 2006 on his 5th try he won the championship, this was also the case in 2007,2008 and 2009. Jimmie was named Sporting News' driver of the year in 2004, 2006 and 2008. He started racing dirt bikes when he was 4 years old who would have thought that he would be the best NASCAR driver in his era.

I know that these numbers will not mean much to you, but if a real racer looks at these numbers they will mean that Jimmie Johnson is a really great race car driver. I think that he is one of my role models that I look up to when I go out to race on Saturdays. I know that if I was going to be a professional race car driver I would want to be just like my favourite driver #48 Jimmie Johnson.

Life Lesson: Everyone needs a role model to look up to.

I is for Icelandic Volcano

I guess the title is a little bit confusing, but I am talking about the volcanic eruption in Europe this eruption has caused a ton of trouble with the airlines. It is said to be worse than the 9/11 airport closure it has been twice as long.

So what exactly happened you ask. Well here it is in a nutshell. An ash cloud from the fuming Icelandic volcano near the glacier Eyjafjallajokull drifted over parts of Europe and grounding most if not all flights. This natural calamity has also sent thousands of tourists and travelers in search for rental cars, hotels, and train tickets.

The travelers were stranded in Europe and could not depart for almost 6 days. The cost is unbelievable it is costing the airline industry some $200 million per day according to the International Air Transport Association.

So about the volcano I touched on it briefly but here is a more detailed summary. The Eyjafjallajokull on the southern portion of Iceland has been on a big tantrum for a second time this month. Last week it sent ash several miles into the air. The plume was pushed south by the wind and east to affect Scandinavia, Ireland, Britain, and into the center of Europe.

When the ash cloud drifted over Europe it was like night turned to day. The locals who lived at the bottom of the glacier wer advised to stay inside so that they wouldn't have problems.
I hope that everbody was okay and I know that it would be very sary I hope everyone who was in Europe got home safely. I think when the ash cloud drifted over it would have been like when a storm cloud rolls in.

Life lesson: Always be praying for other people in places that need help.

H is for Happiness

Everybody needs happiness right? So lets talk about happiness, it is the thing in our lives that makes life livable. What is happiness? I think that happiness is the tingly feeling that you get when some thing awesome happens or laughing your head off when you are hanging out with friends.

What was the most happy moment in your life? Do you know? I don't think I can pick one but I might be able to pick a pretty good one well here it is.
I was racing in the Oktoberfest Grand Prix and I started the race in third and I ended up passing the pople in front of me and winning I was so happy.

So everybody remember to always be happy don't be sad be happy. If you are sitting therre going I don't know what my happiest moment was that is okay it isn't important to know which moment was your happiest but that you had alot of happy moments.

Life Lesson:Don't worry about your happiest moment aslong as you had happy moments.

G is for Gold

Everyone watches the Olympics right? So you probably saw Canada win an Olympic record for most golds at a winter Olympics ever. They also reset the record for most golds by a host country. That is pretty cool.

Now I am going to talk about some of the heroes from the Olympics. Well if I am talking about Canadian heroes at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics you have to talk about Alexandre Bilodeau. He was the first Canadian to win a gold medal on home. He was amazing because even though he had just become famous he made sure to say hi to his brother and he kept saying he was inspired to ski by his brother and he kept trying to tell everyone that he owed this to his brother.

The next hero I am going to talk about is the guy who scored the goal that got Canada the gold medal that broke the record for most golds at any winter Olympics. Yes I am talking about Sidney Crosby. He was the one who got the puck in the corner and skated up to the net and released a shot that trickled by the American goaltender Ryan Miller. I remember watching at home and my brother went crazy when he knew that they won.

Of course it wouldn't be fair if I didn't mention the other gold medalists they are Jon Montgomery,Jasey-Jay Anderson,Charles Hamelin,Maƫlle Ricker,Christine Nesbitt,Ashleigh McIvor,Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse,Kevin Martin Ben Hebert Marc Kennedy John Morris Adam Enright, Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, the mens and womens hockey teams recieved gold,Mathieu Giroux, Lucas Makowsky and Denny Morrison,
Charles and Francois Hamelin, Guillaume Bastille, Jean Olivier, and Francois-Louis Tremblay.

Life Lesson: Always believe in your country.

F is for Friends

F is for friends that do stuff together U is for U (you) and me N is for ne where(anywhere) and n e time here in the great blue sea.

As awesome and terribly random that song is it represents how fun good friends can be.

F is for friends that do stuff together. It can be small stuff like laughing at jokes on the Internet. It can also be going to a friends house to play for a day. There is also the ultimate thing you can do with your friends it is going on a plane to a place and only having one parent staying in your own room and playing video games or watching TV all night with room service nachos. That would be totally awesome. I wish I could do that.

U is for you and me. Some friends like to do stuff together this might sound a little wrong but I am talking about really good friends. They might go to the movies or something. U and me could also be them talking about how they were friends since they were in grade 7 and are still friends now even though they live in totally different places. I happen to know people like that it is amazing what they have been through.

N is for ne where and n e time. As I said in the last paragraph some friends can be friends even from long distances away. They can make their friends feel good from long distances away or right beside them. They can also comfort them at any time be 12:00AM OR 1:00AM they are always there for their freind
