I is for Icelandic Volcano

I guess the title is a little bit confusing, but I am talking about the volcanic eruption in Europe this eruption has caused a ton of trouble with the airlines. It is said to be worse than the 9/11 airport closure it has been twice as long.

So what exactly happened you ask. Well here it is in a nutshell. An ash cloud from the fuming Icelandic volcano near the glacier Eyjafjallajokull drifted over parts of Europe and grounding most if not all flights. This natural calamity has also sent thousands of tourists and travelers in search for rental cars, hotels, and train tickets.

The travelers were stranded in Europe and could not depart for almost 6 days. The cost is unbelievable it is costing the airline industry some $200 million per day according to the International Air Transport Association.

So about the volcano I touched on it briefly but here is a more detailed summary. The Eyjafjallajokull on the southern portion of Iceland has been on a big tantrum for a second time this month. Last week it sent ash several miles into the air. The plume was pushed south by the wind and east to affect Scandinavia, Ireland, Britain, and into the center of Europe.

When the ash cloud drifted over Europe it was like night turned to day. The locals who lived at the bottom of the glacier wer advised to stay inside so that they wouldn't have problems.
I hope that everbody was okay and I know that it would be very sary I hope everyone who was in Europe got home safely. I think when the ash cloud drifted over it would have been like when a storm cloud rolls in.

Life lesson: Always be praying for other people in places that need help.
